Most of elementary and secondary school mathematical terms in Korean are Sino-Korean words. We check Chinese characters relating to such Sino-Korean words by using Chinese dictionaries, and critically judge how much we can understand Sino-Korean words by Chinese characters. Through this search, we classify Sino-Korean words into three categories; words which can be understood by Chinese characters, words which can not be understood by Chinese characters, words which are misunderstood by Chinese characters.

This study is the field of mathematics education on the assumption that they can extend outside the classroom. Recent mathematics education is increasing the importance of field experience and various activities based on real-life math education. Thus, it is necessary to consider this situation in pre-service teacher``s education. The purpose of this study is to apply the ``Mathematics Field Trips Activities`` in the pre-mathematics teacher education. So the specific case of ``Mathematics Field Trips Activities`` was analyzed. Mathematics teachers conducted preliminary exploration activities on the historical cultural property which were effective in the following four aspects. First, cognitive effects and second, definitive effect. Third, cultural-mathematical effect. Fourth, the effect on improving math class. Finally they were summarized and divided into classes target content knowledge and teaching knowledge both sides. As a result, the ``Mathematics Field Trips Activities`` were found to have significant effects on pre-service math teacher. Finally, ongoing research is needed to settle into a new teaching and learning methods.

Mathematics problem based learning(PBL), which has recently attracted much attention, is a teaching and learning method to increase mathematical ability and help learning mathematical concepts and principles through problem solving using students`` mathematical prerequisite knowledge. In spite of such a quite attention, it is not easy to apply and practice PBL actually in school mathematics. Furthermore, the recent instructional situations or environments has focused on student``s self construction of their learning and its process. Because of this reason, to whom is related to mathematics education including math teachers, investigation and recognition on the degree of students`` acquisition of mathematical thinking skills and strategies(for example, inductive and deductive thinking, critical thinking, creative thinking) is an very important work. Thus, developing mathematical thinking skills is one of the most important goals of school mathematics. In particular, recently, connection or integration of one subject and the other subject in school is emphasized, and then mathematics might be one of the most important subjects to have a significant role to connect or integrate with other subjects. While considering the reason is that the ultimate goal of mathematics education is to pursue an enhancement of mathematical thinking ability through the enhancement of problem solving ability, this study aimed to implement basically what is the meaning of the integrated thinking ability in problem based learning theory in Mathematics. In addition, using historical materials, this study was to develop mathematical materials and a sample of a concrete instructional guideline for enhancing integrated thinking ability in problem based learning program.

Mathematics(group theory, in particular) makes it partially possible to present and create music and patterns. This means that patterns can be presented by music through mathematics. In this work, we first produce musical piece for each type of frieze patterns. Based on the musical pieces, we compose a music presenting the combined pattern of all frieze types. We finally produce a video for hearing design through music. Through a QR-code, anyone can access the product of this work. The results of this research might be examples for integration of mathematics and arts and for utilizing smart circumstances.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how first and second graders in middle school take in integrated understanding about the concept of function. The data was collected through the questionnaire conducted by the first and second-year students at A, B middle school in Cheongju. The questionnaire consisted of 14 questions related to the extent of understanding a concept of function, the ability to express function and to translate function. The results are summarized as follows. First, the percentage of correct answer made a difference according to the types of representation. Questions leading students to translate a task into a table or an equation showed quite high correct response rates. However, questions asking students to translate a task into graphs showed high incorrect responses. Second, the result shows that students have the different viewpoints depending on their grades when they have to determine whether the suggested situation belongs to function. The first-year students tended to consider function as the concept of ``definition``. On the other hand, the second-year students emphasized ``equation`` of function. Finally, only a few students can distinguish the various situations and representations into the definition of function. This result shows that students didn``t get the integrated understanding of the concept of function.

This study focuses on enhancing expertise as a study advisor for mathematic teacher in field based on self-study method. By advising math study with students in school, the research was carried out ‘process & content of mathematic study method advisement’, ‘process & content of the self-questioning by the math study adviser’, and ‘enhancing expertise as a math study counsellor by self-study method’. Overall process has been proceeded through preparation, experiment, result & analysis. Experiment has been done based on consultation modeling for academic high school which ran five times. During consultation, based on analysis & result, researcher has recorded ``self-questioning`` report. This report is utilized for ``self-examination`` for the researcher along the discussion with counselor for enhancing expertise as a study advisor. By above process, practitioner identifies each own``s pros & cons as a mathematic study advisor and strengthens the skill while understanding the subject: student. by ``self-studying`` method, advisor enhances its own expertise as a teacher with the achieving student and learns practical knowledge for a math study advisor.

In this paper, we investigate the bracing rectangular frameworks problem and provide a new proof of this problem using the angle sequence according to deformed rectangular frameworks in a view of mathematising. And also we provide the algorithm to determine the rigidity of braced rectangular frameworks.
